JUST to inform you of the ongoing Project that I,m opportuned to be involved -The West African Gas Pipeline Project (WAGP) is a Multinational Project which shall be an International Gas Transmission System that will transport clean, reliable and competitively priced natural gas from Nigeria to customers in Ghana, Togo and Benin.
WAPCo is owned by the following companies (with approximate ownership percentages): Chevron West African Gas Pipeline Ltd (36.7%); Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (25%); Shell Overseas Holdings Limited (18%); and Takoradi Power Company Limited (16.3%), Societe Togoliase de Gaz (2%) and Societe BenGaz S.A. (2%).
Product: WAGP NATURAL GAS, - a purified Natural Gas free of heavy hydrocarbons, liquids and water, ideally suited as a fuel for Power Plant and Industrial applications.
Supply Sources: From natural gas sources in Nigeria
PIPELINE PROFILE
The Pipeline extends from the existing Escravos-Lagos pipeline at the Alagbado "Tee" in Nigeria and proceeds to a beachhead in Nigeria near Badagry. From this point it goes offshore and running parallel to the coast down to Takoradi, in Ghana, with gas delivery laterals from the main line extending to Cotonou, Lome and Tema.
Pipeline Length: 678 Km (including laterals)
Initial Capacity: 170 MMscfd
Ultimate Capacity: 470 MMscfd
Gas Utilization:
• 85 per cent for Power Generation and
• 15 per cent for Industrial Applications
Classes of Customers:
• Foundation Customers,
• Standard Customers and
• Industrial Development Customers.
Foundation Customers:
• Ghana’s Volta River Authority/Takoradi Thermal Power Plant;
• CEB of Benin and Togo.
Benefits of Gas Utilization
• Clean and environmentally friendly
• Safe and reliable
• Secure long term supply (due to abundant reserves in region)
• Cost competitive
